Get ready to lace up your runners as Brampton’s annual outdoor fitness challenge is back this weekend with obstacles and challenges guaranteed to work up a sweat.
Back for another year of fitness and fun, the Brampton Tough Run is an outdoor challenge race that combines a five-kilometre run with boot camp-style obstacles.
Previous Tough Run courses have featured a ski hill climb and descent, tire flips, track and field activities, and a weighted drag among other fitness challenges.
“The goal of the Brampton Tough Run is to get people of all ages and fitness levels active and to have fun outdoors,” the city says, adding that participants can bypass an obstacles if they prove too difficult.
Participants will have a start time, but are not expected to finish with their group.
“Everyone is encouraged to work at their own pace and enjoy the event,” the city says.
The first run starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday with heats running every ten minutes. There are 35 spots available for each heat, with the final round starting around noon.
Registration is available online and some time slots have already been booked up.
The Brampton Tough Run is scheduled to run rain or shine but considerations will be made in “extreme inclement weather,” the city says.
Participants must be 14 years of age or older to sign up for the challenge, and anyone registering who is between 14 and 17 years old must have a waiver completed by someone over the age of 18. The registration fee for teens is $22.12 plus taxes for Annual Fitness Members: and $27.65 for non-members
The Brampton Tough Run takes place on Saturday at Chinguacousy Park. For more information visit www.Brampton.ca.
