Police confirmed Tuesday that the body found near the rail tracks in Hamilton’s north end was that of 32-year-old local man, Stanley Gordon Waite.

Devon Pastoric, a 32-year-old man from Hamilton, has been charged with second-degree murder and no other suspects are currently being sought by investigators.

The Hamilton Police Service would not provide details on the manner of death but said Waite’s body was found inside a tent in the area of Lottridge St. and Landsdowne Ave.

The forensic unit is expected to remain on the scene, and police continue to canvass the area for video.

Police say the family of Waite has requested privacy as they mourn their loss.
