Boaters in Burlington and Oakville need to follow the water rules

Just because you can see the shore doesn’t mean you are safe.
That’s the message from Halton Regional Police as boating season begins along Burlington and Oakville’s lakefront.
In a series of new promotional videos that outline boating regulations and safety guidelines, the department’s Marine Unit has outlined a number of tips and measures in an effort to minimize the dangers that boaters can find themselves in.
In the most recent video Const. Colin Policelli points out there are many steps to be taken before you leave the shore.
You don't venture out on winter roads without snow tires, anti-freeze, and a snowbrush.
Don't set sail without first ensuring you have everything you need to do so safely.
