The Southside Shuffle has rounded out its lineup by adding a major headlining act.

An annual blues festival, the Shuffle runs Sept. 5, 6 and 7 in Port Credit.

Already announced, Big Sugar will be the featured artists on the main stage on Saturday night.

Now, The Sheepdogs have been added to the bill and will close out the weekend with a late Friday performance.

Hailing from Saskatchewan, the band formed in 2004 and released three albums by 2010. They received a big break in 2011 when they appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine, and that’s when a larger audience began to take notice.

Since then, the band has toured relentlessly and has recorded several successful records and received four Juno Awards.

Often described as a straight-ahead rock and roll band that has a knack for producing instant soulful classics, The Sheepdogs will be the closing act on Sept. 5, hitting the stage at Port Credit Memorial Park around 10:15 p.m.

As for what to expect for this year’s 27th Annual Southside Shuffle that runs Sept. 5, 6 and 7 in Port Credit, organizers say it will showcase the depth of Canadian blues and roots music to an audience that always keeps coming back for more.
