Residents are invited to bring their lawn chairs, picnic gear and some “good vibes” along with them to a block party being held in one of Mississauga’s oldest “villages” this Sunday (July 17).

The Streetsville Block Party runs from 12 noon to 8 p.m. at Levi Creek Public School (1525 Samuelson Circle) and includes fun and activities for people of all ages, organizers say.

It’s being hosted by the office of Mississauga-Streetsville MP Rechie Valdez, who says all are welcome to attend the event, to which admission is free of charge.

The event includes an electric vehicle (EV) car rally (which helps mark Electrical Vehicle Week), a Street Eats Market with local food vendors and food trucks, and an Artisan Market in which local markets and shops will be “popping up” throughout the day-long block party.

Kids activities are also part of the day.

“We want to bring the Mississauga-Streetsville community together,” said Valdez, a first-time MP who was elected to office last fall.

The EV car rally will feature some of the latest electric vehicle models, courtesy of the EV Society advocacy group, organizers say.
