A Black History Month market is set to hit the City of Mississauga next month.

The event, which is being hosted by The New Youth Council, in partnership with the Museums of Mississauga and Mississauga Recreation, will take place at the Small Arms Inspection Building on Feb. 24.

The market will provide attendees with the opportunity to shop from local Black-owned businesses and hear from community historians while celebrating Black excellence in the City of Mississauga.

It is set to feature various vendors including Akachi Farms, Heroes of the World, Mia’s World Book Club with author Victoria Daley, OyES Education, ReLiv Organics, The Mississauga Soap Company and more.

Additionally, the event will feature treats from African and Caribbean-inspired restaurants, guest speakers including Leonard Paris and Channon Oyeniran and an opportunity to meet local authors.

The free event will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and is open to everyone.
