BINGO was her game-o, St. Catharines woman wins $250,000

After decades playing the odds St. Catharines’ Irena Soja was “shocked” to finally claim a big win of $250,000.
Soja has always bought her tickets from the Avondale on Carlton St in St. Catharines. She was in for a surprise when she went in for this BINGO Multiplier ticket.
“This ticket was the last one of its kind at the store, so I knew it had to be mine,” Soja told OLG, “After playing my ticket, I used the ticket checker at the store to confirm and when I saw the Big Winner screen I screamed. I was shocked!”
So shocked in fact that when Soja told her daughter the pair wept happy tears together.
Soja’s winnings are going straight into the bank to ensure a comfortable retirement. However, “I’ll also celebrate by taking a trip back home to Poland to spend time with my family,” she said.
The BINGO Multiplier is a $10 ticket with a $250,000 top prize. The odds of winning anything are 1 in 3.49.
