Bike rider with ponytail pulls knife on young Burlington girls

Police are seeking a man who threatened two teens with a knife.

The incident took place yesterday (June 9) afternoon around 1:30 p.m. as two girls were walking behind a plaza in the Appleby Line and Fairview Street area.

According to reports, a man riding a bike and armed with a large kitchen knife approached the girls and pointed the weapon at them.

The pair fled the scene and no injuries were reported.

Police say the man did not speak to the girls and he was last seen pedalling along the Centennial Bike Trail.

Police were notified but so far the man has not been located.

The suspect is described as being about 50-years-old with a thin build. He had long, dark hair that was tied in a ponytail.
