All things Bollywood will take over Celebration Square in Mississauga’s downtown core starting this afternoon (July 21) and continuing on Saturday as Canada’s largest South Asian festival hits town.

The #BollywoodMonster Mashup festival is back for its 13th year and things get under way at 4 p.m. today, running until 11 p.m.

The popular festival, which features international Bollywood stars, dance performances, concerts, sizzling food, shopping and more, continues on Saturday from 2 to 11 p.m.

Admission both days is free.

Organizers say the two-day event offers something for the whole family. Bollywood dance lessons, arts and sports activities for kids, a seniors lounge and a wide array of entertainment are all on tap.

“You’ll be able to dance and sing along to live music while eating delicious food and shopping at the #BollywoodMonster Bazaar,” says festival executive director Vikas Kohli. “We’re adding more food and shopping options from local businesses daily, so there’ll be something for everyone.”

The festival returned to Celebration Square last year after being held virtually the previous two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

#BollywoodMonster Mashup has been a regular event at Celebration Square since 2011, drawing huge crowds of Bollywood lovers each year.

More information is available on the festival’s website.
