Big drop in gas prices expected overnight in Ontario

Drivers will see savings at the fuel pumps when gas prices drop by almost a nickle per litre on Thursday.

Gas and oil prices have been in flux due to the ongoing conflict between the U.S. and Iran, and the national average price per litre is expected to come down 2.8 cents per litre to $1.721 for regular.

But drivers in Mississauga, Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area could see prices dip 4 cents to $1.679, according to Affordableenergy.ca.

That’s the lowest price since mid-April, and down from a price jump to $1.999 earlier this month. The price of premium will also drop by 4 cents to $1.979, while diesel will dip 2 cents to $1.899.

Prices will be slightly higher in Ottawa, with regular at $1.689, premium $1.989 and diesel at $1.909 per litre.
