There is no battle more serious and important than the battle between two cities vying to be recognized as the best place to go for exceptional tacos.
We at inSauga.com and inBrampton.com have searched far and wide for the best tacos in both cities and our Top 5 picks are about to battle it out for the title of best tacos—and you can vote on your favourite in the poll below.
When it come to great tacos, every ingredient counts. Is the tortilla soft and able to contain all of the delicious ingredients? Is it perfectly spiced and memorably tasty? If it has fish in it, is it fried to perfection?
Both Mississauga and Brampton are known for their respective food scenes and both offer a ton of commendable taco joints—but only one city can have the absolute best selection.

While Mississauga has never been known for having a fulsome Mexican cuisine scene, it does have a few gems–and some delicious tacos. People looking for a great Mexican staple can try the taboon tacos at the relatively new City Centre gem Alijandro’s Kitchen, enjoy the sizeable portions at the family-run Senor Burrito in the Sheridan Centre area, try the hefty tacos at the Streetsville-located El Mariachi Tacos and Churros, sample the beloved fish tacos at the authentically Mexican Border MX or take in the great decor at our number one pic, El Jefe. While El Jefe is our number one, all of the aforementioned restaurants are ideal locations for the perfect taco.
Brampton
Brampton might have lost a Mexican restaurant a little while back, but its taco scene is still strong. Diners in the mood for a great taco can check out Harbourside Fish and Chips for some reliably tasty fish tacos, the industrial area gem MexiCados Burritos and Bowls, the Queen St. located Fresh Burrito Mexican Grill, the always on-trend downtown hotspot Carve on Lot 5 and the exceptionally cool–and exceptionally tasty–J. Red & Co. While J.Red is number one, diners should know that Brampton offers a lot of great options when it comes to tacos.
