Beer, wine from Croatia, Slovenia now part of Mississauga LCBO destination

A specialized LCBO shop in Mississauga has introduced product geared to those who enjoy Central European flavours.
The LCBO’s Destination Collection will see product specially imported from Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary and Austria on the shelf at the Dundas St. and Mavis Rd. location.
According to the LCBO, the collection will be the most comprehensive offering of Central European products in Ontario featuring wines, spirits and beer that are unique or lesser known and geared to those looking for something different, or those who long for a taste of back home.
As of today’s launch (June 10) the collection will feature 13 products from Hungary, 12 each from Austria and Croatia, and eight from Slovenia. Products will be rotated in and out depending on popularity and availability.
Some of the featured products include Merlot and Cabernet wines from Croatia, Riesling’s from Austria, Pinot Grigio, Grüner Veltliner (Zöld Veltelini), Irsai Olivér and Egri Bikavér from Hungary and sparking and dry white wines from Slovenia.
The Dundas and Mavis location has been recently renovated and has 8,300 sq-ft of display space for product.

Store hours are Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
