A uniquely-Canadian dessert shop has opened its doors in Burlington.

BeaverTails is bringing its brand of fried pastry covered with sweet toppings to the shopping plaza on the northeast corner of Walker’s Line and Dundas St.

BeaverTails is renowned for its myriad of styles of its signature dish, from the simple cinnamon and sugar to more elaborate toppings like hazelnut spread and bananas, apple pie filling, maple sugar crunch and strawberry cheesecake.

If you’re feeling a bit more adventurous, BeaverTails also offers a combination of two Canadian classics, beaver tails topped with poutine, that traditional mixture of French fries, cheese curds and gravy.

And if you’re in the mood for something a bit more savoury, you can always grab some fries, a beaverdog (hot dog wrapped in pastry) or poutine, without the beaver tail.

The restaurant is now now open at 3061 Walkers Line.

According the BeaverTails website, hours are not fixed and customers should call 905-319-0005 before planning a trip.
