Have you been in the mood for some exceptional Thai food and haven’t been quite sure where to go to get it?

Since there is no shortage of selection in the GTA, the choice as to where to dine can be a tough one—especially when places that serve delicious Thai food are plentiful across cities.

When it comes to great Thai food, every aspect is important. Is there an incredible balance of flavours? Is the curry sweet and spicy enough? How on point is the pad Thai? How mouth-watering is the mango salad? And, how spicy can the food get?

Both Mississauga and Oakville are known for their respective food scenes and both offer a ton of commendable Thai joints—but only one city can have the absolute best hotspots.

What places were competing?

Mississauga

Top 5 Thai Restaurants in Mississauga

Mississauga is a big and bustling city with an enviable food scene, with a ton of options for Thai food. The Top 5 best spots to check out? Twin Fish with their diverse menu and bustling space, the Port Credit staple Thai Signature, the family-owned Streetsville gem Jing Thai, the vibrant and tasty Thai House Cuisine 2, and the rich, flavourful, and expanding Bamboo Legend. Bamboo Legend might be our top pick for Thai food in Mississauga, but each one of the spots on this list offers something unique and delicious.

Oakville

Top 5 Thai Restaurants in Oakville

Oakville isn’t huge, but its food scene is—and its Thai selection is on point. If you’re in the mood for Thai, you can check out the casual but reliably delicious Funky Thai 2 Go on Rebecca Street, the cozy and modern Thai Siam in Upper Middle Shopping Centre, the forever beloved Third Line gem known as Bamboo Legend, the conveniently located (right in the Cineplex plaza) SukoThai, and our number one pick, the modern, sexy and satisfying Soontorn Bahn Thai in downtown Oakville. While  Soontorn takes the top spot, there is no shortage of Thai selection in Oakville.
