When it come to great calamari, every ingredient counts. Is the batter nice and crispy? If steamed or grilled, is the squid tender and not rubbery? Is the dipping sauce savoury and on-point?

What places were competing?
Mississauga has some choice hotspots for the timeless classic, including the iconic and longstanding Piatto Bistro, the popular and ever-growing Goodfellas, the casual Meadowvale hotspot Union Social, the long-standing Clarkson Mediterranean Bistro and our number one pick, the beloved Fred’s Bar and Grill (which is known for its calamari).
Brampton, a big and bustling city with an enviable food scene, offers a ton of options when it comes to calamari. Some hot spots to check out? The well-known downtown gem Fanzorelli’s, the very long-standing (and eternally popular) Canelli’s Italian Eatery, the on-trend and always satisfying Carve on Lot 5, the elegant and date-night worthy Bucatini and our number one pick, the swanky and memorable Antica Osteria.
