Investigators say someone working near Berczy Park reported finding the bones there shortly before 1 p.m. on Friday.
They say the remains have been sent to the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Toronto for further examination.
Police say an autopsy is scheduled today, and they believe the remains are human.
The east and west walking path entrances of the park remain closed to the public as the investigation continues.
