Things are going to the dogs this Saturday in St. Catharines… and rightfully so.

The Lincoln County Humane Society will be holding their Barktoberfest walkathon fundraiser at Burgoyne Woods (70 Edgedale Rd) in St. Catharines from 10 am to 3 pm on October 1.

“This annual event is an important fundraising effort for the Lincoln County Humane Society,” said the group.

The group describes itself as “a charitable not-for-profit organization dedicated to the humane treatment of all animals and supporting the human-animal bond, fostering an environment in which people respect all living creatures. We provide safe refuge and compassionate care for animals.”

There will be countless activities, a 50/50 draw, prizes and more. Participants will also have a chance to meet dogs that are up for adoption.

The group has already raised $5,275 of their targeted $5,000 with their online campaign running until the end of October.

“On behalf of the Lincoln County Humane Society, thank you for your donation! Your generosity will help us to make a positive impact in the lives of the dogs that come into our care.”
