More trips and new employment shuttle service coming to Brampton Transit routes

Students head back to school in just over two weeks, and school bus routes are returning to Brampton.

Brampton Transit announced the iRide program, which offers increased service during the school year, returns on Tuesday, Sept. 5.

Most Brampton secondary school are on the 200 series bus routes. The schedules have been adjusted on some routes to match new school bell times.

And the regular service returns to the 199 UTM Express to get students to the University of Toronto Mississauga campus.

For students taking the 54 County Court bus to Sheridan College, the route has changed. The bus will no longer enter Sheridan College and will service bus stops on McLaughlin Road and Steeles Avenue.

Brampton Transit asks that students follow a few guidelines when travelling on the bus.

Riders should remove your backpacks and gym bags and place them on the floor. This will make more room for riders to board the bus and ride comfortably.

When boarding the bus, move as far back as you can. This makes it easier for people boarding behind you.

Don’t throw anything out the windows and keep your arms inside the bus at all times. Also, don’t leave any garbage on the bus when you exit. There are garbage bags at the front of every bus.

Be kind and courteous to the people around you – watch the volume of your voice. Use headphones and keep the volume down when listening to music.

Also on Sept. 5, Brampton Transit is implementing a number of service changes for routes such as the 501C and 501 Züm Queen, Chinguacousy Express, the 50A Gore Road bus, the 29 Williams Parkway, the 26 Mount Pleasant, and many other routes.
