If you’re looking to cool off Friday (Aug. 19) with a dip in the water at your local beach in Oakville, Burlington and Milton, there’s a couple of places you want to make sure you scratch off your list.

The latest beach water quality report from Halton Region Public Health is asking residents to stay out of the water at Bronte Beach Park in Oakville, located at Lakeshore Rd. and Bronte Rd., and Prospect Park Beach in Action, located at 30 Park Ave.

Both local beaches tested unsafe for swimming on Aug. 17.

There are still several beaches across Halton to enjoy a beautiful summer day swim:

BURLINGTON

  • Beachway Beach, located at 1094 Lakeshore Rd., has tested safe for swimming on Aug. 17
  • Brant St. Beach, located at Lakeshore Rd. and Brant St., tested safe for swimming on Aug. 17

OAKVILLE

  • Coronation Park East Beach, located at 1426 Lakeshore Rd. W., tested safe for swimming on Aug. 17.
  • Coronation Park West Beach, located at 1426 Lakeshore Rd. W., tested safe for swimming on Aug. 17.
  • South Shell Park Beach, located at 3376 Lakeshore Rd., tested safe for swimming on Aug. 17

MILTON

  • Kelso Conservation Area Beach, located at 5234 Kelso Rd., tested safe for swimming on Aug. 17

During the summer months, the Halton Region Public Health monitors water quality at selected recreational beaches in Halton Region.

This is done as part of the Region’s commitment to protect the safety, health and well-being of all Halton residents.

Beaches in Halton are selected for monitoring based on how often they are used for swimming and other water sports.
