Aug. 31 Weather: Hot and humid start to the long weekend in southern Ontario

The last long weekend of the summer is officially here and it will be warm in southern Ontario
Showers and possibly thunderstorms were expected overnight but on Saturday the skies should clear, Environment and Climate Change Canada says.
It will be cloudy in the morning, clearing early in the afternoon in Mississauga, Brampton, Burlington, Oakville, Hamilton and Durham Region.
A high of 26 C is expected in most of the GTA, with a high of 25 C in Hamilton and Durham Region.
But with the humidex, it could feel like 31 C.
The UV index is expected to be seven or high.
Temperatures are expected to drop in the evening to 16 C.
Saturday might be the hottest day of the weekend. Cooler temperatures are expected for the rest of the weekend with a chance of rain on Sunday.
