ATV rollover north of Port Perry sends man to hospital with ‘life threatening injuries’

A man had to be airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre with “life-threatening” injuries Saturday after an ATV rollover on private property north of Port Perry.

Police and emergency crews responded to the accident near Simcoe Street and Whitifield Road near the Trading Post store at 8:30 p.m. Saturday after a 25-year-old operating an off-road motorized vehicle on private property lost control and rolled over.

The driver sustained serious life altering injuries and was transported by Air Ornge to the trauma centre, where he remains in stable condition.

Members of the Durham Police Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene. The cause of this collision remains under investigation.
