Shooting sends man to hospital with 'critical injuries' in Brampton: police

A Brampton teen was charged with attempted murder following a double shooting in Thunder Bay earlier this year.

The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 17 in the 200 block of Ambrose St. in Thunder Bay, according to the Thunder Bay Police Service.

Police found a female victim on the scene in critical condition, and a second male victim was located in the parking lot of the Thunder Bay Casino.

Investigators said the shooting was an isolated incident and was possibly “related to the ongoing illicit drug trade.”

Three people were arrested in Sault. Ste. Marie the following day, including two 18-year-olds, one from Brampton and another from Scarborough, and a 20-year-old from Toronto.

Jayden Bowen, 18, of Brampton, and Kayshan Robertson, 18, of Scarborough, were charged with two counts each of attempted murder.

Isaiah Broomfield, 2, of Toronto, was charged with two counts of accessory after the fact.

Bowen was released on conditions in April and Broomfield was ordered released in March with a surety promising to pay $10,000 and is required to pay a $3,000 cash deposit.

None of the allegations have been proven in court.
