Mississauga residents will have no shortage of Christmas and holiday-oriented events this year!

First, there will be the one-day pop-up Holiday Market (organized by the city and festival guru Philip Suos and presented by insauga.com) on Nov. 19 at Celebration Square. The next weekend, holiday revelers can head to Streetsville for the neighbourhood’s two-day Christmas in the Village celebration.

But before those two events, there’s a little one at Visual Arts Mississauga (VAM) that’s more than worth a look.

VAM is launching the festive season with its annual Holiday Artisan Marketplace and that event will kick off on Saturday, Nov. 12 and end on Sunday, Nov. 13 at 4:00 p.m.

If you want to do some Christmas shopping early, you can probably get a lot done here. The event will feature the creative works of over 25 artists and artisans. There will also be a tearoom and a few other treats.

“Our Holiday Artisan Marketplace offers an inspired shopping opportunity,” explains event coordinator, Eldiana Begovic. “Our Marketplace will showcase high-quality art and handmade gifts including smaller paintings, fashion items, jewellery, woodwork, textiles, sculpture, glass, crafts and more. Freshly baked holiday goodies will be available for purchase to make your visit even more delightful. Attending the event is a great way to support local artisans while getting a head-start on your holiday shopping.”

The event will start on Nov. 12 at 10:00 a.m. and run until 4:00 p.m. It will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 13 as well.
