Arrests made in connection with aluminium heist in Milton

Halton police have made several arrests in connection with the theft of aluminian from a manufacturing business in Milton.
Constable Steve Elms, Media Relations Officer for Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS), told insauga that on Apr. 17, the complainant notified police about a hole in the fence at a manufacturing business.
According to Elms, the complainant also observed males stealing aluminum from the property.
Police arrived on the scene just after 11:30 p.m. and located a suspect on the property, who fled through the hole in the fence to an adjacent business, Elms said.
Police ran after the suspect which led them to a parked van that had its back doors open exposing that it was full of aluminum. According to Elms, the van, which had two males inside, fled the area and officers continued to chase the initial suspect on foot.
Elms said that suspect was observed entering another vehicle that was in the same lot as the van, with resulted in officers blocking the exits from the lot and arresting the occupants of the van and second vehicle.
The following have been arrested and charged, according to Elms.
Gyula Kotai, a 27-year-old from Toronto has been charged with theft over $5000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 and mischief under $5000.
Sandor Kotai, a 29-year-old from Toronto has been charged with theft over $5000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 and mischief under $5000.
Gabor Mate, a 27-year-old from Toronto has been charged with theft over $5000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 and mischief under $5000.
Attila Horvath, a 43-year-old from Toronto has been charged with theft over $5000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 and mischief under $5000.
Milan Kotai, a 35-year-old from Toronto has been charged with theft over $5000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, mischief under $5000 and dangerous operation
All accused were released on an undertaking, according to Elms.
