Halton Regional Police have arrested two people following a series of home break-ins that occurred last fall.
Police say typically the homes were targeted in Oakville and Burlington during the day when residents were not at home. It is believed that those responsible forced open locked front doors and, once inside, would search through bedrooms, stealing cash, jewelry, and other valuables.
Clayton McFarlane, 44, of Oshawa, and Darnyl Campbell, 33, of Grimsby, have each been charged with four counts of break and enter and four counts of disguise with intent.
Both accused appeared in Milton Court on March 6, 2026, and were remanded into custody.
Police said extensive video canvassing and working with other police departments and members of the public led to the arrests.
“Break-ins like these are more than property crimes, they violate the sense of safety people expect in their own homes,” said Halton Deputy Chief Roger Wilkie. “Residents in the Orchard, and Alton Village neighbourhoods of Burlington as well as residents of north Burlington and Oakville were directly impacted, and our investigators worked tirelessly to identify and charge those responsible.”
Police say they are continuing their investigation.
