Arrest made of Brampton man wanted on Canada-wide warrant

Police in Windsor have arrested Tyrone Lothian of Brampton who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.

A Brampton man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant has been captured in Windsor.

Police in the Southwestern Ontario city say on Feb. 27  officers were responding to a report of two men trespassing inside an apartment complex.

After arriving at the scene, one of the men tried to flee but was arrested after a foot chase and a brief struggle.

“A search of the suspect returned 70.8 grams of fentanyl, valued at over $17,000.,” according to the police report.

Through investigation, officers learned that the man arrested, Tyrone Lothian of Brampton, was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant issued by the York Regional Police Service for weapons trafficking and four counts of conspiracy to commit an indictable offence.

Lothian, 25, now faces additional charges of drug trafficking, resisting arrest, unlawfully entering a premises, and failing to comply with a bail order.

Lothian was arrested last year as part of a lengthy police investigation called Project Lookout that involved an alleged large-scale gun and drug trafficking network.
