Arrest Made in Murder of 83 Year Old Mississauga Woman

Police have made an arrest in relation to a homicide in Mississauga.
On Friday, December 21, 2018 at 9:48 a.m., officers responded to a report of an unresponsive woman at a residence in the area of Cawthra Road and Silver Creek Boulevard.
They located a woman with obvious signs of trauma, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim was identified as 83 year old Mississauga woman Mary Araujo.
On Monday, August 19, 2019, police arrested Alexander Bates, a 47 year old man from Mississauga. He is charged with first degree murder.
Bates has been remanded into custody pending a bail hearing, police say.
