Arrest made in Hamilton convenience store stabbing

The Hamilton Police Service announced Monday (Mar. 29) the arrest of a 36-year-old local man in relation to a stabbing that occurred Saturday at Royal Convenience.

On March 27, at approximately 11:18 p.m., police responded to a “stabbing in progress” at the corner of Main and Wentworth.

After searching the area, police were able to locate and arrest Eric Desousa.

He is facing charges of Assault Level 1, Aggravated Assault, and Fail to Comply Probation x2.

Police say Desousa had his bail opposed and appeared in court Monday.

The victim was taken to hospital and is expected to recover from their injuries.
