Arrest made after shots fired into Brampton business

Police have arrested Tray Clarke of Toronto

Peel Regional Police have arrested a Toronto man following a months-long investigation into a shooting attack on a Brampton business.

The incident took place in the early hours of July 8 last year when two people arrived at the business in the area of Rutherford Road South and Steeles Avenue East.

One of the men fired multiple rounds into the business and fled in a stolen vehicle.

On Jan. 9, a warrant was executed at an address in Toronto. During the search, a loaded illegal handgun was located.

Tray Clarke, a 26-year-old male, has been arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Reckless discharge of a firearm
  • Mischief over $5000
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a loaded prohibited firearm
  • Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition

Clarke was held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice.
