Authorities have arrested a third man in the shooting death of a Mississauga man and another Canadians gunned down in Mexico ealier this year.

Mexican police say the latest arrest is that of a man who was an accomplice of the alleged shooter of Thomas Cherukara of Mississauga in Playa del Carmen. Robert Dinh of Toronto was also killed while a woman survived the shooting. Two others were arrested earlier in connection with the shootings.

Officials from the Riviera Maya resort area believe the murder was gang related as both victims had been charged with organized crime related activities in Canada in the past.

The killings took place on January 21 of this year as the three victims were on the grounds of a hotel. According to reports, a man who was earlier walking with the three stopped, pulled out a gun and started firing.
