Arrest follows armed robbery of retail location in Brampton earlier this month

A 27-year-old Brampton man has been arrested following a retail robbery earlier this month.

On Saturday, July 17, a store near Queen St. and Centre St. in Brampton was targeted by a masked suspect who made demands for money and lottery tickets while threatening the cashier with a hammer.

The suspect fled from the scene in a stolen vehicle, which was recovered later that day. The cashier wasn’t injured.

Officers from the Central Robbery Bureau of the Peel Regional Police made an arrest Sunday in the area of Steeles Ave. and Hurontario St.

Leandro Amaral appeared in court today, July 26, to face charges of robbery, wearing a disguise and possession of stolen property.
