Hamilton police continue to deal with a barricaded person in the area of Barton and Sherman that began Wednesday (Apr. 21) morning.
A member of the Hamilton Police Service’s communications team says officers believe they “have the appropriate resources in place to bring this to a peaceful resolution.”
Police added that they will “take whatever time is necessary” to do so.
8:35 a.m.
The Hamilton Police Service (HPS) says officers are dealing with a barricaded person in the area of Barton and Sherman Wednesday morning.
The safety of everyone involved and the public is our primary concern, as such we ask for your patience as we work through this,” tweeted HPS at 8:31 a.m.
The incident resulted in the closure of Barton Street between Sherman and Kinrade Ave.
Residents and vehicles are being advised to avoid the area.
