April 18 Weather: Rain, fog and grey skies to dominate Southern Ontario

April 18 is set to see the middle of a three-day stretch of overcast and rainy skies.

The Environment Canada sensors at Pearson Airport predict a cloudy day on Thursday with an overall 40 per cent chance of showers.

By early morning fog patches which collected overnight will start to dissipate as winds rise to about 20 km/h. These winds will remain low overall but will gust up to 40 km/h.

This is expected to carry on throughout the morning from 6 a.m. until about noon. During this time, temperatures will rise to about 15 degrees, before peaking at 17 by 4 p.m.

However, the risk of rain will fall to 20 per cent at noon and remain there until sunset. The skies over the GTA will remain cloudy through the afternoon and evening though.

This will continue into Friday which will see temperatures peak at 15 degrees and a risk of more showers.

Luckily, the weekend is looking brighter with a clear sunny sky expected on Saturday and Sunday. That said it will be a little chillier with temperatures only hitting 9 degrees on Saturday.
