The deadline for the Art on Bell Boxes Mentorship Program has been extended and the Town of Halton Hills has issued a last call for local professional artists as a result.

Applications were initially only open until Mar. 7, but the deadline has now been extended to Mar. 21.

The program will be led by Yasaman Mehrsa, a Toronto-based multidisciplinary artist who has worked on public art projects such as the Bell Box Murals Project and will provide participants with the opportunity to paint one of six Bell utility boxes upon completion.

Additionally, participants will be learning how to take their art off the canvas and into the public art landscape throughout the program, which will be conducted in three sessions during the spring of 2022.

A maximum of 15 artists will be accepted into the program.
