Another sexual assault charge filed against Courtice man after third victim comes forward

Durham Police have filed more sexual assault charges against a Courtice man who once taught at Ontario Tech University after a third victim came forward. All three victims were once his students.
Ronald (Ronn) Young was arrested in January after police began an investigation when a victim came forward with “allegations of a sexual nature,” per police.
This alleged incident occurred in 2017 when the victim was 17 years old and, police say, continued for several years. During the investigation police identified a second victim with allegations of an assault from 2013. The victim was 21 at the time.
Young was a lecturer at Ontario Tech University, then known as UOIT from 2008 to 2017. Both men were his students.
Now a third former student – a man in his 20s – has come forward with allegations of an assault from the summer of 2020. The victim was once a student of Young but not at the time of the alleged incident.
Ron Young, 63 of Courtice, was arrested and charged with sexual assault, in addition to the earlier filed charges of three counts of sexual assault and one count of sexual exploitation. He has been released from custody with conditions.

Young was heavily involved with the community. He served as a youth pastor in Clarington from 1985-2002 and worked as a psychotherapist in Oshawa. He was still working in that Oshawa clinic when he was first arrested.
