Police have made another arrest following the shooting of a seven-year-old boy in Hamilton. 

Police have made another arrest following the shooting of a seven-year-old boy in Hamilton. 

Hamilton Police say officers arrested and charged 20-year-old Hamilton man Jayden Pitter in relation to the alleged shooting that took place on Gordon Street on Jan. 23, 2020.

Police say the firearm used in the incident remains outstanding.

The child involved in the incident continues to recover from his injuries, police say. 

Police believe the residence was targeted and the child was an unintended victim.

On March 11, 2020, one arrest was made in relation to the shooting.

“Through continued investigation, detectives from the Major Crime Unit identified [Pitter] as a suspect. A warrant for his arrest was issued and on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, he was arrested and brought for the courts to answer to his charges,” police said in a news release.

The accused is facing a number of charges, including discharging a firearm with intent, aggravated assault, criminal negligence causing bodily harm and more.
