As we’ve said many times, our city is lucky!

OLG recently announced that yet another lucky Mississauga resident is taking a substantial cash prize home.

This time, the winner is Brian Dunne and he’s walking away with the $100,000 top prize with Poker Lotto.

“When I saw my cards come up on the lottery terminal, I began laughing so hard,” Dunned told OLG at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto. “I was calm and excited and loud and felt so many different emotions at that moment. Next, I spoke with OLG and they confirmed everything.”

According to OLG, the 45-year-old factory worker called his mother to share the big news.

“She hung up on me,” he said. “She needed a moment to process what I told her. Then, she called back and asked if I was lying. I answered, ‘Nope, I swear mom, I won.’ She was so happy for me.”

Dunne plans to treat himself to a new wardrobe, invest some of his winnings and take a trip to a warm destination.

“I would love to go to Hawaii – it’s a place I’ve always wanted to visit. Winning the lottery gives me the freedom to do more. It has opened up so many doors. Life will now be a bit easier and a lot more fun,” he said.

Poker Lotto is a lottery game that offers both instant in-store wins – of up to $5,000 – and nightly prize draws of up to $100,000 with each $2 ticket and uses playing card symbols rather than numbers.

The winning ticket was purchased at Fanery’s Convenience on Hurontario Street in Mississauga.
