Another bear spotted in Beaverton; this time near a school

Durham Regional Police are dealing with another bear sighting in the Beaverton area, this time near Thorah Central Public School.

Police have not said if it is the same young bear that hung around the community for an afternoon earlier this week and enjoyed a dip in a local resident’s pond in an effort to cool off.

They are warning residents to exercise caution. If you see the bear, please do not approach it and contact police instead.
