Another 50 speed trap cameras come online in Brampton

The city is closer to its goal of installing 185 cameras by the end of summer with the addition of 50 new Automated Speed Enforcement cameras that just came online across Brampton.

The city plans to have 100 new ASE cameras up and running by the end of 2025, and the new cameras that went active on Friday bring Brampton’s current count to 150.

The cameras can be found in Brampton Community Safety Zones and common problem areas.

Fines increase depending on the driver’s speed, with the lowest rate being $5 per kilometre plus costs for drivers speeding between 1 and 19 km over the limit, ranging up to $19.50 per kilometre.
