Another 44 cases of COVID-19 hit Niagara Region today

Another 44 COVID-19 cases hit the Niagara Region today (September 8) as the active case count rose to 262.

Every case in Niagara at the moment is or is suspected to be the Delta variant.

Niagara Falls leads all municipalities with 76 active cases followed by St Catharines with 60.

Seven more municipalities in the region are now double digits for case numbers. Fort Erie now has 20 cases followed by Thorold with 19. Welland and Grimsby both recorded 15 with Pelham following at 13. Lincoln and Port Colborne each have 11.

Wainfleet is the only municipality in the region with zero cases.
