Annual Oakville Mayor’s picnic hosted by Historical Society Sunday

The annual Oakville Mayor’s Historical Picnic is returning to the waterfront Sunday, June 9.
Hosted by the Oakville Historical Society, the event brings together fun, entertainment and a little bit of education from noon to 4:30 p.m. at Lakeside Park, 144 Front St.
Among the attractions expected to be available include a Dixieland band, Goggin-Stewart Irish Dancers, stilt walker, Oakville Wind Orchestra, along with clowns, face-painting for the kids, balloon artist, games and historical exhibits
Families are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the day.
New for this year include representatives from the Oakville Public Library to read to kids, a display about Oakville Harbour, and a second face-painter.
