Lucky Lion Night Market - 2022
There’s an exciting way to immerse yourself in Asian cuisine and culture this weekend.

The annual Lucky Lion Night Market is back in Hamilton, and it will run from May 12- 14 at Bayfront Park (200 Harbour Front Drive).

Hamilton is just one stop this summer, as the festival will also hit Markham and London, Ont.

As for what attendees can expect, organizers are asking revellers to “come hungry.”

According to the event’s website, guests can enjoy over 100 food items, photo opportunities, workshops and crafts, interactive lion dances and a 19+ bar with a DJ.

This year’s newest addition to the market is the ‘Omikuji’ booth. Inspired by the traditional Japanese practice of receiving random paper fortunes, visitors can draw their own Omikuji fortune, which may bring good or bad luck.

Good luck fortunes can be taken home or carried as lucky amulets available for purchase at the market, while bad luck fortunes should be tied onto the display. According to legend, bad luck will wash away with the next rainfall.

This event offers free admission and is scheduled to take place during the following hours:

  • Friday: 4 pm to 12 am
  • Saturday: 2 pm to 12 am
  • Sunday: 1 pm to 7 pm
