A massive interactive flight simulator is set to open in Niagara Falls later this month.
Niagara Takes Flight is a brand-new immersive attraction that suspends attendees over a massive 17-meter-wide screen showcasing the splendor of the Niagara Falls area — all while simulating the sensation of flight.
It even goes so far as to include active wind and mist effects that will make guests feel like they are actually in the skies above the Niagara River corridor, all the way to Lake Ontario and Lake Erie.

According to Niagara Parks, which is running the groundbreaking attraction, this multi-sensory experience has been built from the ground up to showcase Ontario’s largest tourist attraction through all four seasons.
“Through cutting-edge interactive technology, people will be taken on an immersive visual experience across Niagara and see what makes this part of Ontario so special,” said Stan Cho, the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming, in an official statement.
Before strapping into the main attraction, those visiting Niagara Takes Flight will be guided through four immersive rooms that showcase Niagara’s full history over the last 12,000 years, highlighting both the area’s people and natural landscapes.

Key themes found throughout these ‘storytelling tooms’ include the relationship between humans and nature in the area, the region’s rich Indigenous history, and the rise of Niagara’s hydroelectric industry.
Once finished, guests will then be loaded into suspended gondola-style seating in the theatre area of the attraction, where they will soar through the skies of Niagara Falls and look at vistas ranging from summer afternoons in Queen Victoria Park to the falls at winter, lit by hundreds of holiday lights.

The full experience is set to cover 56 kilometres of drone-recorded outdoor footage that will dive in and out of roaring rapids, steep rock faces, and expansive, lush forests.
“Niagara Takes Flight offers a new perspective and appreciation for this special place and the world-renowned environmental and cultural heritage features that Niagara Parks has been entrusted to protect since 1885,” said Bob Gale, Chair of Niagara Parks, in an official statement.

Niagara Takes Flight is set to open at the end of this month, on August 29, 2025.
