Altum Health opens physiotherapy clinic in downtown Oshawa

Altum Health brought their team of specialized therapists to downtown Oshawa Tuesday for the grand opening of their newest clinic, their second facility in Durham Region.
Official ribbon cutting of the new clinic, located at 38 Simcoe Street South in the old BMO building, took place in the morning with Altum and City of Oshawa officials on hand. Renovations in the building have been ongoing since October 2020.
Altum Health, part of the University Health Network (UHN), operates as a health care & rehabilitation facility, providing physiotherapy and occupational therapy assessment and treatment services for a range of problems, including musculoskeletal injuries like sprains and strains as well as concussions. The company also specializes in return-to-work program and other programs designed to help injured people get back to their normal activities.
“The City of Oshawa is excited to welcome Altum Health and the University Health Network to the downtown core. We are so pleased to see the transformation of the former BMO building as part of a broader revitalization,” said Oshawa Mayor Dan Carter. “Healthcare is Oshawa’s largest economic sector, and Altum Health will further strengthen that vast network.”
Shiran Isaacksz, Altum’s Vice President, said he was “excited” to join the Oshawa community. “We are excited to get to know our neighbours and local businesses. Oshawa is Canada’s fastest growing city, and we are pleased to see the opportunity to deliver the right care, always, to Durham Region residents.”
The new Altum Health location in Oshawa joins Ajax, as well as Barrie, Brampton, Cambridge, Hamilton, Mississauga, Oakville, Scarborough, Toronto, and Vaughan as bricks & mortar clinics in southern Ontario.
