All-you-can-eat Indian restaurant chain opens new location in Oshawa

A restaurant chain known for serving authentic Indian cuisine buffet style has opened a new spot in Oshawa.

India’s Taste, a long-running restaurant brand that began its culinary journey 24 years ago in Brampton, has since expanded to several locations across the GTA, including Mississauga and Markham.

The restaurant, located at 2620 Simcoe St. N., Unit 7 & 8, opened on Feb. 26 and is bringing the chain’s menu of traditional Indian dishes and buffet options to Durham Region.

Menu offerings include a wide range of tandoori-style meats, curries, biryani and street-food favourites.

Popular dishes include Kali Mirch Chicken Tawa (boneless chicken cooked in a black-pepper spiced onion and tomato gravy) and Chicken Seekh Tawa (grilled minced chicken skewers blended with traditional spices and herbs).

Other meat options include Lamb Tawa (tender lamb cooked with traditional Indian spices and herbs) and Goat Curry (slow-cooked goat simmered in aromatic spiced gravy).

Seafood dishes are also available, including Fish Tikka (marinated salmon or basa grilled in a tandoor clay oven).

Vegetarian selections include Paneer Tawa (Indian cottage cheese cooked in a spiced onion-tomato gravy) and Mix Veg Tawa (a blend of vegetables cooked with traditional spices).

Guests can also find Indian street-food favourites such as Pani Puri (crispy hollow shells filled with spiced potatoes and tangy flavoured water), Samosa Chaat (fried pastry filled with potatoes topped with chutneys and yogurt) and Bhel Puri (puffed rice snack mixed with chutneys, vegetables and spices).

Desserts include classics such as Gulab Jamun (deep-fried milk dumplings soaked in sugar syrup) and Ras Malai (soft cheese dumplings served in sweet cream milk).

India’s Taste Oshawa is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
