The Tiger-Cats made a splash in free agency, announcing on Wednesday that a familiar face will return to Hamilton.

Three-time Canadian Football League All-Star Ja’Gared Davis signed a deal with the Ticats that will see the all-star pass rusher suit up in black and gold after spending the 2022 season in Toronto Argunauts double-blue — where Davis won his second career Grey Cup.

The 32-year-old defensive lineman also won a championship in 2018 with the Calgary Stampeders. In fact, Davis has played in the Canadian Football League title game in each of the six seasons he’s been in the league. Two of those games were played with Hamilton (2019 and 21).

A native of Crockett, Texas, Davis has played in 89 CFL games, registering 256 tackles, 49 quarterback sacks, three interceptions, ten forced fumbles, and two defensive touchdowns.

The 6-foot-1, 238-pound Southern Methodist University product spent time with four National Football League teams from 2013 to 2015; the Houston Texans, New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs (twice), and with Washington.
