Grammy and Juno Award-winning singer-songwriter Alessia Cara will headline the entertainment at the NHL Heritage Classic at Hamilton's Tim Hortons Field.

Singer-songwriter Alessia Cara was announced Monday (Mar. 7) as the headline entertainment act for the 2022 NHL Heritage Classic at Hamilton’s Tim Hortons Field.

The Grammy and Juno Award-winning artist from Brampton, Ontario began her meteoric rise in 2015 when she was just 19. Here peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and went on to sell three million copies. Since then, songs like Scars to Your Beautiful and How Far I’ll Go from the Moana soundtrack have led to 15 billion worldwide streams for Cara.

According to the NHL, additional entertainment performers and game day presentation details will be announced in the coming days.

Home of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League and Forge FC of the Canadian Premier League, Tim Hortons Field will be converted to a hockey rink this Sunday (Mar. 13) for the outdoor game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Buffalo Sabres.

Puck drop is scheduled for just after 4 p.m. on Sunday and the game will air live on Sportsnet in Canada and TNT in the United States.
