Ajax woman adds $100,000 to her retirement fund with Crossword scratcher

An Ajax woman’s retirement nest egg is incubating all the faster following a $100,000 lottery win.
A regular lottery player, Mary Fernandes picked up her usual Crossword scratch ticket at Sam’s Food Store on Hunt St. in Ajax.
As she got to scratching, “When I realized I uncovered five words, I knew I won something. Then I found the sixth word and scanned my ticket on the OLG App,” she said, “When $100,000 appeared, I was so happy!”
Fernandes plans on adding the money to her retirement fund saying, “I want this money to last as long as possible.”
Crossword $5 a play and the top prize is $100,000. The odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.81.
