Ajax triple-murder trial continues this week at Oshawa Superior Court

The trial of Cory Fenn, charged in the deaths of an Ajax mother and two of her children, began Monday.
Police found Krassimira Pejcinovski, 39, and her son Roy, 15, an aspiring hockey player, dead in their Hilling Drive home on March 14, 2018. Pejcinovski’s daughter Venallia, 13, was found seriously injured and was taken to hospital. Venallia succumbed to her wounds later that night.
Autopsies of the victims showed two of them suffered stab wounds, while the third was asphyxiated.
Pejcinovski’s eldest child, Victoria, then 16, was at a friend’s house the evening of the killings.
Witnesses described a male suspect to police and after a brief search, Fenn, then 29 and Krassimira Pejcinovski ‘s boyfriend, was arrested.
Victoria’s testimony on Tuesday described a fraught and argumentative relationship with “loud yelling” and “frequent” fights that got worse over time.

Fenn was denied bail and remanded into police custody the day after his arrest.
Days before jury selection was to begin, Fenn announced to the court that he was firing his lawyer. He declared he would represent himself and demanded a judge-alone trial. The crown granted the request, after judge Howard Leibovich warned Fenn about the dangers of the decision.
Fenn is charged with three counts of second-degree murder. If convicted, each charge carries a sentence of 10 to 25 years in prison.
The trial will continue at the Oshawa Superior Court.
