Ajax stabbing victim Durham’s seventh homicide of 2022

A man is dead after a late afternoon stabbing in Ajax Monday.
Durham Regional Police responded to a call at 5:35 p.m. after reports of a stabbing on Griffiths Drive in the Westney Road and Hwy 2 area. One person is in custody and police are not seeking other suspects, though they have confirmed it is a homicide.
“There is no concern for public safety,” police say, adding that a media release with more information will be available soon.
This is Durham Region’s seventh murder of 2022.
